This retaining wall contained smaller stones that were starting to crumble and lean. The mortar holding them together failed and as a result, the entire wall was falling down. There are a number of reasons a wall could fail over time, such as the subgrade not being installed properly, the mortar not being set properly, or the way the stones were stacked. This wall required a complete teardown and redo. The stones we replaced it with are installed correctly from the base all the way up to the top of the wall.
